Why go private
A private charter preserves the pace and privacy of villa life. Departure times match your day, menus reflect your tastes, and the itinerary flexes with the weather and your mood. It’s hotel-level service with the freedom of your own boat so there’s no fixed schedule, no strangers, just space and ease.
Half-day sails
A gentle morning or lazy afternoon on the water suits Antigua perfectly. Slip along the island’s west coast, hugging reef-sheltered bays and glassy reaches where the breeze does most of the work. On board, everything is arranged including soft towels, shaded seating, light bites and chilled drinks, so you can read, doze or watch the shoreline drift by. At anchor, the water is clear and inviting, perfect for short swims, a paddleboard, or simply time to float and breathe.
Sunset, unhurried
Golden hour is Antigua at its most cinematic, and the west coast holds the best seat. Set off in the late afternoon and let the light change around you. A slow sail, a quiet anchor, and something cold in hand as the sun drops; then an easy return after dusk, the island’s lights guiding you back.
Snorkelling without the rush
For those who prefer calm over spectacle, a low-key snorkel run is ideal. Crews select sheltered reefs with fewer boats and good visibility, then keep everything simple – short swims, surface support, and reef-safe practices. It’s less about ticking sites and more about experiencing the abundant aquatic life offshore.
Thoughtful touches
Charters can be tailored as precisely as your time at the villa. Light Mediterranean-style lunches or Caribbean-inspired small plates; drinks to suit your mood from refreshing juices to wine and Champagne; a few minutes of breath work on the foredeck before anchor; discreet photography at golden hour if you’d like a keepsake. Families and friends are equally well-served, with calm bays for confident swimmers and a considerate crew on hand.
Easy pairings with villa days
Choose the time that works for you. The first: an early start, a quiet sail and swim, then back to Pearns Bay House for a chef-prepared terrace lunch and a languid afternoon by the pool. The second: a slow morning, perhaps a bit of yoga on the deck, followed by a late embark, a west-coast sunset at sea and a starlit return to Pearns.
Practical ease
Most outings run two to five hours and slot neatly around your plans. Choose from comfortable day boats, classic monohulls or spacious catamarans, selected for stability and shade. Bring swimwear, a light cover-up, a hat and reef-safe sun care; everything else is arranged. Our House Director will do all the hard work for you, securing the right vessel and crew, managing weather checks and organising door-to-dock transfers.
Quiet luxury on the water is simply this – considered details, an easy route, and the sense that the day is entirely yours – at sea, as it is at Pearns.
